Hornsteins at the Cosmo!
We tried out this burger joint at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas this past week. Their menu looked good from what we saw from outside of the restaurant.
They had all types of burgers, from originals, to chicken, to salmon burgers and all fries are either skinny or steak cut.
I went a different route and tried the salmon and lox burger with some skinny fries, while my friend ordered the chcken carbonara burger, which he said was great!
The salmon and lox were very tasty, and packed with flavor. Very easy to eat, not messy at all. The fries were very tasty as well.
If you're looking for a good, semi-affordable burger joint, with plenty of options, check out Hornstein's at The Cosmopolitan, 2nd floor.

Yolos in Vegas
Yolos is a small mexican restaurant in Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. We met up with a buddy of ours, who lives locally, for some dinner.
The decor was, of course, more than necessary, especially their menu, which lights up when opened.
I ordered the chicken fajitas because I am eating low carbs and since the tortitas come seperately, it was easy to just have the vegetables and meat.
The dish arrived like any other fajita meal ordered in most places, steaming out of the kitchen.
Needless to say, the food was decent at most. Maybe their other dishes are better, who knows. But it seems like most mexican restaurant places I go to, all seem to be similar, both visually and taste.

Smokin Al's Bbq
Some buddies and I decided to go to a BBQ spot where I've heard the food is delicious. We went to Smokin Al's in bayshore, although there is also one in Massapequa.
My friend ordered their Mac n' cheese which he said that is what he came there for. Too bad I didn't get a chance to try it, oh well.
I ordered the beef brisket sandwhich and substituted for the sweet potato fries. They give a lot on their plates and most go home with a doggy bag. This wasn't the case here. The brisket was tender and the bbq sauce was flavorful. Their sour crout with the vinegar was superb, and their sweet potato fries were unreal. They coated the fries with a little cinnamon but it wasn't overwhelming with sweet, it was just right.
If you're looking for a great local bbq place in Long Island/New York area, the food is worth the trip. Check out Smokin Al's in Bayshore or Massapequa.

Scallops with "Indonesian" spices
I went back to Wild Ginger for lunch. They have some really good lunch deals, and a decent variety of choices.
I havent had scallops in a long while, so thats what I decided to order.
It was the Somal Scallops with Indonesian spices. The meal came with either soup or salad, so I ordered the salad with it.
The flavors were very tasty with a bit of heat from the spices. For lunch, the whole meal was around 11 bucks. Not too bad for lunch at all. I recomment the dish, especially if you dig scallops.

Ahi Poke Tacos
Found this small spot near the Huntington Beach pier that serves these fresh fish tacos of all types. I love ahi tuna, so I odered a few ahi poke tacos, and they were delicious.
Too bad I forgot to get the name of the place...I guess it was that good.

Shiki
Shiki in Smithtown, NY is yet another up and coming Japenese restaurant.
I ordered a straight up sashimi dish, which, like most Japenese restaurants, comes with soup or salad.
Shiki gave edemami's and their new sample mini dish complementary, which was quite delicious.
