Shiki

Shiki in Smithtown, NY is yet another up and coming Japenese restaurant.

I ordered a straight up sashimi dish, which, like most Japenese restaurants, comes with soup or salad.

Shiki gave edemami's and their new sample mini dish complementary, which was quite delicious.

Korean BBQ

In Flushing, Queens there is a spot called "Picnic Garden.". It is Korean bbq style eating. Here, they have a buffet of uncooked, but season meats. They have everything from pork and chicken to amazing short ribs. The buffet also includes other sides such as dumplings, veggies, sushi, soup and even chicken wings.

The place is really small and a little on the pricey side, but if you come with a good appetite, the $30 they charge for dinner is well worth it.

After you gather all the meats and sides you desire, you sit back at your seats and at every table there is a medium sized grill for you to cook all the food you want.

A little messy and humid but non the less a cool take on cooking your own food.

Oh yea, and you WILL smell like Korean bbq when you leave and for hours after that.

Can't pass up chocolate cake

Ruby Tuesday has this molten chocolate cake that is served with vanilla ice cream and berry sauce.

It is scrumptious.

Medditeranean, yum

For my brother's birthday, we found this new place that just opened up a few weeks ago in Westbury, NY called Ayhans.

Personally, I think medditeranean cuisine is one of the tastiest cuisine's in the world, not to mention the healthiest.

We started off with grilled octopus, grilled calimari and fresh hummus with pita appetizer's which were extremely flavorful. They also had $5 martinis, so we all ordered the pomogranite martinis, yes, "girl" drinks, if you will, but they were damn good that night.

For the main course, I ordered shrimp skewers served with basmati rice and veggies. It was a nice light dish packed with flavor.

It seems Ayhans has a promising future in medditeranean food.
