Some buddies and I decided to go to a BBQ spot where I've heard the food is delicious. We went to Smokin Al's in bayshore, although there is also one in Massapequa.
My friend ordered their Mac n' cheese which he said that is what he came there for. Too bad I didn't get a chance to try it, oh well.
I ordered the beef brisket sandwhich and substituted for the sweet potato fries. They give a lot on their plates and most go home with a doggy bag. This wasn't the case here. The brisket was tender and the bbq sauce was flavorful. Their sour crout with the vinegar was superb, and their sweet potato fries were unreal. They coated the fries with a little cinnamon but it wasn't overwhelming with sweet, it was just right.
If you're looking for a great local bbq place in Long Island/New York area, the food is worth the trip. Check out Smokin Al's in Bayshore or Massapequa.

Sushi and Sashimi Galore!
Last night, we were badly craving sushi. Personally, one of the better spots for asian fusion, sushi and sashimi dishes is Wild Ginger in East Northport, NY. They do have a few other places in Nassau county and Manhattan as well.
Wild Ginger offers anything from fire grill chicken, beef, scallops and prawns to plenty of variety of sushi and sashimi dishes.
I decided to go for the Sushi & Sashimi for 1 and my brother ordered a various types of rolls.
The dishes were fantastic, and I highly recommend Wild Ginger if you are in the New York/Long Island area.

Gasho - Hibachi
During Superbowl weekend, we decided to try some hibachi for a change.
Gasho in Long Island is where we decided to go Saturday evening.
They have comical cooks that try to entertain diner's as you enjoy some appetizers such as soup and salad. Although, I must say, I was disappointed with our cook, as he literally cooked up our table's food and left. He did not even crack a smile. Pretty lame experience this time around.
The food was good, which is most important. I ordered the Mahi Mahi once again. I seem to be on a Mahi fix lately, but I do enjoy the fish.
It was good and had some spice but more on the salty side.
Overall, you get your food cooked right in front of you, which is always great for celebrations or a big group of people. The cooks should entertain you, but you could also end up with a dud from time to time.
I recommend for a fun dining experience.

Yup, Mexican again.
Mexican resaturant, "Burrito Loco" in Commak is what I decided to have for dinner on this extremely brisk Friday evening.
I decided to go for their shrimp rice bowl, which included plenty of shrimp, rice, peppers, tomatoes, onions, and jack cheese melted on top.
The jack cheese makes it a slightly heavier dish. Overall, the dish isn't too fattening and very tasty.
I highly recommend this Mexican establishment. Located off Commack Road in the Meat Farms shopping center.

Wild Ginger
Last night we went to Wild Ginger in East Northport, NY.
Wild Ginger is an asian fusion spot with Indonesian, Thai, Chinese and Japanese flavors and dishes.
I ordered the "Fusion Sushi" entree. This included 10 pieces of the chef's choice, with 5 different toppings as well.
Wild Ginger is a place I highly recommend. The decor is really nice, and I have to mention that the music they played was very nice also.
Below is a photo of the chef's choice with King Crab.
